Feels Like Fall for Mojo #464

There is definitely a feeling of fall in the air in many places and so it is here on our blog this week too.  We have three Halloween cards to share with this sketch in mind:

First this week is Robyn’s spooky card all decked out in spiders.  I just love the sentiment from Craft Smart and papers from Pebbles.  Using several layers of washi tape adds a spooky flair to her envelope too.  Very cute!

Karen’s card is next with a fun mixture of rich Halloween colors.  I just love the addition of purple with Halloween designs. Her papers are a mix of retired Stampin’ Up  collections with a bit of embossing around the edges.  A cute sentiment from Stampendous‘ Tricky Words, a bit of washi tape on her envelope and her card is all ready for fall.  So colorful!

Finally, my card is less scary but still fallish with just a bit of Halloween sprinkled in.  My papers are scraps from Doodlebug’s collections for Halloween.  The embossing folder is from Sizzix, but I don’t remember where I got it.  The stamps are from My Favorite Things’ Primitive Pumpkin Set.  Of course there is washi tape on my envelope too!

That’s a wrap for our fall parade.  We hope you found something that inspires you to create something with a taste of fall this week.  Be sure to check out the Mojo site for more great ideas.  Leave us a comment and come back again.  We love visitors!

A Wonderful Day

Here are 3 cards hot off the presses made just this morning.  We just finished our weekly video chat where we make cards for the Mojo Monday challenge.  Here is the sketch we followed:

My card is a combination of colors I’m in love with this season.  If you follow our blog you’ve probably noticed me using it often.  The So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder are so soft and such a great combination to my eye.  Both are from Stampin’ Up as are the dotted and floral embossing folders I used. The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Wonderful stamp set.

Isn’t this a bright bold card from Karen?  She too used several embossing folders including  Wood Grain by Paper Studio, and  Swirls and Leaves from Sizzix.  The swirled black paper is a sheet from a Recollections pad and the remainder are scraps.  The sweet label is from a Martha Stewart collection.

Do you see the similarities between Karen’s and Robyn’s cards this week. They were created in different spaces, but to their surprise came out very similar.  If you look closely you will see the black stripe is ribbon from May Arts and not paper.  A nice texture alternative.  The sweet ‘hello’ is from a retired Stampin’ Up collection called A Dozen Thoughts.

We are happy you stopped in and hope you return soon. There are more great interpretations of this sketch at the Mojo Monday site.  Please check them out.

Just in the Nick of Time

Here are the cards we made for Monday’s Mojo Challenge # 494.  We enjoyed the project and hope you enjoy seeing what we created.  First the design sketch:

This is Robyn’s interpretation all set for a special birthday.  April had a number of birthdays for us and we made cards for them all, but May is coming up with its share as well.  Robyn’s card is full of great colors and fun designs that work well together with all products from Stampin’ Up.  Too bad my birthday isn’t until August.  This would be fun to receive.

Karen’s card is an eye catching creation with bright strawberry paper from Stampin’ Up’s Fruit Stand.  Her striking flower is cut from SU’s Bunch of Flowers.   Her colors, also from SU, include Warermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, and Real Red.

Finally this week,  my card was made for a dear friend that could use a smile right now.   I hope this card does the job.  My paper is from Papertrey Ink’s Watercolor Wonder paper pad.  The image is a stamp from a sweet collection of Penny Black called Wonderful Day.

Those are our cards for this week.  We hope we’ve inspired you to give this challenge a try.  It’s not too late to submit a card of your own at the Mojo Monday site.
See you again soon!

3 Fun Creations for Mojo Monday #492

This week we have some fun cards we hope you will enjoy.  Here is the sketch we used:

This is my card with the fun image Karen used last week.  It’s from Whipper Snapper Designs and it just makes me smile.  How about you?  If I were to make this card again I think I’d emboss the So Saffron* and the Wisteria Wonder* pieces.  I’m blaming the absence of textures to the early hour I must create my cards so I may work along with my other “sisters”.  They live in a later time zone.  How does that sound?  Believable I hope!

* Stampin Up

Karen’s card is so sweet.  She made it for her sweet granddaughter who recently turned 16. The papers were scrapbox found with just a bit of glittery pink sparkle.  Love the combination of pattern don’t you?

April is birthday central for our families and Robyn too has a birthday card.  Her sweet image is from Just Rite Papercraft‘s Doodled Birds.  They are so fun! Once again this week she has combined colors & patterns that knock her card out of the park!

That’s a wrap for this week.  We hope we’ve inspired you to create something fun!  Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check the Mojo Monday site for more great ideas.

Until next time, we are—

Follow the Bunny for Mojo Monday # 491 & Global Design #081

This will be a short post because there is just a bit of time before the challenges for this week close. We tried to follow the color challenge for Global Design and the design sketch for Mojo Monday.   First up is Karen’s card.

The sweet images and sentiment are from Whipper Snapper stamps and are loads of fun. Great whimsy! The outside is cheerful and bright too. A great Springtime card.

This is Robyn’s card with lots of bright color and fun pattern. I love how she combines the different designs.  Papers are from Stampin’ Up.

Here are the sketches we followed:

I will try to be more prompt next week with our blog and have everyone’s card here for you.  See you soon!

Happy Easter for Mojo Monday # 490

We have just a bit of whimsy for you this week with our collection of cards.  As Easter just around the corner and Spring in full swing, we created cards with fun Springtime characters.   Not a planned thing, but with all the options out there it’s not hard to find cute images.  Here is Karen’s card:

Her sweet chick in a fun disguise is from Stampingbella’s Cool Chicks collection.   Very fun and cleverly colored with watercolor pencils (which she recently received from one of her “sisters”).  If you haven’t tried watercolor pencils, you should.  They are fun, easy to use, and an easy clean up.

This is Robyn’s creation with her cute peeking bunny.   This rabbit is from Stampin’ Up’s current Paper Pumpkin as is the tiny sentiment and clip.

This is my card with some silly chicks getting ready for Spring. They are also from Stampingbella.  I too used colored pencils and continue to work on my technique. I struggle with the blending.  Here is the sketch we used:

We hope we’ve brought some smiles your way and maybe a little inspiration.  Please leave a comment if you see something you liked and check out more ideas at the Mojo Monday site.

Hello Spring for Mojo Monday #489

I tried to get our post out earlier this week, but it seems the weeks just fly by lately.  Does this seem to be happening to any one else? We have some fun cards this week that I hope you enjoy.  Here we go with Robyn’s card:

This is so fresh and bright just right for the first week of Spring.  Some fun swirls from Tim Holtz for Sizzix are the center of attention on her card this week.  Pretty floral papers from Pocket Blossoms from a DCWV pad accompanied by a few sweet sequins create a fun card.  The birthday sentiment is retired Sassy Salutations from Stampin Up.

My card has a touch of Spring to it too.   Most of my materials are from Stampin’ Up and include cardstock of Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach, one of their sweet doilies and a few delicate pearls.  I tried some tone-on-tone stamping with my Peekaboo Peach layer and like the results.  The stamp I used was a sprig from their Blooms & Wishes collection.  The sentiment is an old stamp from a local craft store.

Here is Karen’s card all fresh and fun.  She used Pebbles’s Budding Romance printed paper for some Springtime interest and complemented it with Stampin’ Up’s Blushing Bride cardstock.  A 3D flower from SU’s Botanical Gardens and a simple sentiment stamped on a Word Window punch out from SU rounds out the look nicely.

And there you have it for this week.  Three cards ready for Spring. This was the sketch we followed and encourage you to visit the Mojo Monday site for more inspiration. We hope you enjoyed your visit and will come back again!

A Sweet Thank You for Mojo Monday #487

A quick post this week with our cards for this week’s challenge over at Mojo Monday.  The week seems to have gotten away from me and so this will be short beginning with Robyn’s sweet and fresh creation.

Her materials were from retired products, but her combinations are soft and cheerful.  It reminds me that Spring is not too far away.  I love the tulips (my favorite flower) so of course this card is a hit for me.

Here is Karen’s card pretty in plaid from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid collection.  A bit of embossing from an old Sizzix embossing folder, and a few scalloped circles completes the look.  Another fun springtime look!

Finally here is my card ready for a good friend’s birthday.  These papers were sent as a thank-you addition to an order I recently received so I’m not aware what collection they’re from, but I do know the sentiment is from Ally Ways & the doily is a Stampin’Up embelishment as is the tiny cupcake.

Thanks for visiting.  We hope you’ve found some inspiration and will consider following us.

Mojo Monday # 486

Here are a couple of cards Karen and Robyn created for this week’s Mojo Monday challenge.  There are some clever ideas here and we hope you  find some inspiration for creating your cards.  Robyn’s card is a collection of scraps and leftovers from a variety of Paper Pumpkins from Stampin’ Up. Isn’t it amazing how far scraps can go?

Karen’s card has a bit of whimsy  and a feel of Spring to it.  From the cute printed background of carrots and tomatoes to the variety of embossing there is a lot of Spring going on here too.  Her paper is from American Craft’s Heartland Farm, and the delightful carrot embelishment is from Hobby Lobby.  Very cute!

Here is the sketch they followed for this week’s challenge:

Thanks for stopping by and do check out all the other great ideas at the Mojo Monday site.

Stamped Dangles for Make It Monday #275

Amy Shaffer offered a fun challenge at the Make it Monday site to create Stamped Dangles.   She offers a great video to illustrate her creations.  This was a fun project to create and I encourage you to give it a try.  Here is my card:

It was like a scavenger hunt through my stamp sets to gather the different components for my card.  I won’t list all the sources, but encourage you to peruse through your sets and I’ll bet you will be surprised with what you can find that will work.  The main thing is to have fun!
